2010 Honda Accord Air Filter Replacement Instructions

Every model of the Honda Accord makes use of an air filter that traps grime and particles from entering the engine through the air consumption system. If the Accord is driven on dusty roads or continuously uncovered to different environments with the next than regular amount of air pollution, the air filter will quickly develop into dirty. The filter should be inspected as part of regular upkeep and replaced if it is caked with grime that doesn’t easily shake off. The process for replacing the air filter may be very similar for every model year of the Accord. These directions specifically apply to the 2010 Honda Accord.

2010 Honda Accord Air Filter Installation Instructions

1. Turn the engine off. Open the hood of the Accord.
2. Locate the air filter housing on the passenger side of the engine compartment. The housing is a black plastic field with a big corrugated pipe protruding from it toward the engine.
3. Loosen the screws holding the lid of the filter housing in place with the Phillips screwdriver. Notice that the screws is not going to come all the way in which out of the lid.
4. Raise the lid off of the filter housing.
5. Remove the outdated filter from the housing compartment.
6. Wipe the inside of the air filter housing with a clean, damp material to take away any dust or debris.
7. Place the new air filter into the filter housing compartment.
8. Exchange the filter housing lid. Make sure that the lid is seated correctly on the housing to create an excellent seal. Tighten the screws to hold the lid in place.
